The Character Brutus the Cat was inspired by two cats. One was my wife’s cat who interestingly named Brutus. The Other was a local street cat that my wife and I affectionately nicknamed Ginger Cat.
Ginger Cat and Mellie would stare at each other through the window which inspired the fictional Brutus to be obsessed with the fictional Mellie. Inspiration comes from the most interesting place.
