In this Classic Mellie, I introduce Brutus, a street wise cat who loves violence, Mellie and the musical West Side Story. He was originally going to be one off character for Mellie’s adventures on the outside.

Brutus is based on an orange street cat in our neighborhood. My wife and I affectionately call Ginger Cat. Ginger Cat and my own Mellie would look at each other in the window which gave me the inspiration of Brutus’ affections toward the fictional Mellie. The name Brutus is comes from my wife’s cat.
